On Dec ember 1st, 2 014 at 6: 00 p.m., my very first niece came into this world.
I became an aunt to Sophie Blair. ♥
I never thought having a niece could brighten everything so much. I could just stare in awe and gaze at her beauty for days and still find numerous things that bring me so much joy. I love everything from her head, full of hair, all the way down to her petite little toes that stretch and spread apart every time you touch them. The way she can sense when it is her mommy or daddy holding her, even with her eyes shut, and tries to bury her head in their arms. The way she makes the cutest, yet funkiest facial expressions in her sleep that will, without a doubt, present the biggest smile across your face. The way that even when you are going through a hard time, whether it be stress, mental/emotional, or just the occasional rough day, having her in your life, suddenly makes everything okay because you would do anything for that baby. The way that you can't stop thinking about her and all of her special qualities, once she leaves your presence. The way that something so small and innocent, can have such a big and powerful effect on your life.
I look forward to the future and positive changes this child will bring to my life. I look forward to hearing her voice, playing with toys, and simply watching her grow up. I am excited for mom & dad's occasional date nights so I can babysit, and for Chuck E Cheese, Magic Mountain, the zoo, Toys R Us, and so many other activities, watching her and her imagination run wild. I'm excited to see what favorite games she likes to play and which Disney princess (if any) is her favorite. I'm excited to have a new member of the family. I'm excited that I have a niece, and that I am officially an aunt. I'm excited to love her through all the many ups and downs in life. I'm excited to have a best friend for life.
